USED SB Mountain Man Style Throwing Tomahawk Steel Axe Blade Head With Hickory Handle #03
Please note: this is a used and has been sandblasted leaving the steel with a silver color.
Either the eye is out of correct drift teardrop shape or the inside part of the bit is causing the Head / handle to seat cockeyed and leaving a gap between the handle and inside eye wall on both insides.
There are some nicks in edge of the bit blade and chop marksin the back of the eyes from being hit in a block by other tomahawks.( as well as grind marks from smoothing out the nicks) There is also some surface rust. Other than this.. they are in really good conditon for the minor damage they have. Pictures are examples of the stated above.
Overall weight of hawk head including handling is appx 1 Lb 6 oz.

The tomahawk eye opening is a tapered teardrop shaped.
The handles load from the top by dropping a tapered teardrop shape handle bottom end first down through the top opening of the tomahawk eye.
Because it is a tapered opening receiving a tapered handle .. as the same time the top of the eye opening and handle seats, so does the bottom opening and handle
The top eye opening of the head is apx 1-5/8" from the teardrop point to the back curve and axp 1-1/8" middle side to side. The bottom eye opening of the head is apx 1-1/2" from the teardrop point to the back curve and axp 1" middle side to side.
This can vary slightly for head to head, but usually there is apx 1/8" difference between the top opening and the bottom opening.
